Ethel had been through a lot in her 87 years. She burried 3 husband's and had 7 kids who had a total of 28 grand children and she has 18 great grand children.
Everyday she enjoys walking around her neighborhood seeing the birds, squirrels and bunnies. Occasionally she seen some dogs barking at her behind fences luckily. They usually give her a startle when they first start. She tries calming them by talking sweetly to them. She also enjoys stopping to smell the flowers her neighbors planted.
Today she is wearing her big brim hat to keep the sun off her delicate skin. Her doctor warned her about being in the sun too much. So she is wearing a long sleeve silk blouse and thin pants so she won't get too hot.
As she walks her neighborhood she remembers her life and what all she had seen over the many years. A tear comes to her eye as she thinks about how her family hardly ever comes to visit. Holidays and that's it. And lately they been skipping a few holidays here and there. She is so lonely and walking helps her somehow.
